Every year the Club sponsors an art/essay contest with different themes. Winners of the contest receive a $150 gift certificate and $150 to open up a savings account at the local West Oakland Credit Union. The awards are co-sponsored by the West Oakland Branch Library, and are funded with a grant from John George’s daughter, Pamela George. Here are some photos of contest winners:
